The Family Chantel: Winter Everett’s Weight Loss Is Truly Amazing (Is She Finally Outshining Chantel Everett? – Will Winter Get A Spinoff?)
The Family Chantel star Winter Everett used to be in her glamorous sister Chantel Everett’s shadow, but now, after losing 150 pounds following bariatric surgery, she’s stepped into the spotlight. Winter played the loyal sister and girlfriend, and now, it’s time for her to live for herself. She can still love her sibling Chantel, but the toxic ex, Jah, is a thing of the past, and good riddance. Winter is a nice person who’s been so open about her weight-loss journey. She didn’t pretend it was a perfect experience. Her candor makes her relatable and endearing.
While it’s also easy to relate to Chantel sometimes (who hasn’t been heartbroken like she was when Pedro Jimeno left her?), Chantel does have a “princess” quality. She was the conventionally beautiful older sister who was effortlessly gorgeous 24/7. She was like a reality TV Barbie who’d just stepped out of the box. She took the world by storm in part because of her beauty – Chantel is modelesque. Growing up in the shadow of a Barbie type like Chantel must have been awful sometimes. Winter’s beautiful, but she didn’t have the homecoming queen look that is Chantel’s signature.
Winter’s Winning Fans Over
Winter loves Chantel, but having a skinny and gorgeous sister probably tested her. Winter realized that society tends to appreciate Chantel’s face and body – it fits beauty ideals in this time period. Winter’s curves, while feminine and appealing, don’t fit everyone’s idea of what beauty is. Some people only see beauty in people who fit the Barbie or Ken mold. Now, Winter’s stunning, just like Chantel. They don’t look alike, but both are stunning women. In the Instagram post shown above, Chantel’s sister’s a vision in winter white.
Society’s changing. Even the modeling business is. On fashion runways, there are more examples of different body shapes and ages. That doesn’t mean that people who are overweight don’t feel undervalued and excluded sometimes. There’s progress but not enough. Some haters talk about “health” when putting down others who are above the ideal weight range, but that’s often just a way to veil their cruelty in concern.
After Winter got bariatric surgery, she lost 150 pounds and seemed more confident. She was still a curvy woman, but her curves were streamlined, and she seemed to prefer her post-surgery silhouette. However, that sleeker look came at a cost.
Bariatric Surgery Recovery Is Very Tough
Bariatric surgery is harsh – it takes time to recover and once a person does, they can eat very little. Food is a comfort and losing this in order to achieve drastic weight loss is very hard on the psyche. Most people who are overweight get that way because they eat to comfort themselves – they’re self-soothing. Food makes it easy to forget their problems for a little while. So, not being able to eat much after weight-loss operations may actually feel like torture. Winter struggled with all that and more, and it was so easy to feel for her.
Winter got real about her journey in The Family Chantel season 4. It was interesting, genuine and one more reason to respect her. She educated others about what it’s really like. Now, she does the same online, talking about her journey and showing off the results. Watching The Family Chantel star is fascinating. She’s blooming like a rose. She deserves a spin-off, and if producers really think about who fans relate to (one called her “stunning” in the comments on the post of her in the white outfit), they’ll give her one.
