Married At First Sight: Denver Season Showed One Cast Member Left At The Altar
Speaking of Married at First Sight franchise firsts, viewers have to go back to last season to remember how Michael Shiakallis was ditched at the altar. While there have been a lot of nerves over the years, and a lot of people on the verge of backing out, last season was the first time that there was actually a runaway bride.
The show had to adapt on the fly, bringing in a second match for Michael Shiakallis. Unfortunately for him, that match did not work out either. However, after 17 seasons, this was a first for the franchise, and something that shocked a lot of viewers when the season aired.
MAFS: Season 18 In Chicago Teases Couple Swap
Based on spoilers for the new season in Chicago, it seems Married at First Sight viewers are once again in for another first for the franchise. This time around, it seems two couples will switch. While there have been plenty of bad matches over the years, there has never been an instance where the couples changed partners. So, this is looking like something that will cause a lot of drama.
As of this writing, it’s alleged that whatever goes down involves Michelle, David, Madison, and Allen. Popular Instagram blogger MAFS Fan notes: “I do not know if a full swap or if just Madison and David got together but I do know Allen was liking Michelle’s IG photos and leaving comments.”
So, even though it’s not conclusive as far as what shape this swap will take, it’s clear that something is coming to shake things up and bring even more drama to the new season.
Married At First Sight Fans Weigh In On Potentially Messy Swap
For the last handful of seasons, Married at First Sight fans have bashed the show for being all about drama and no longer about genuine connections. While a juicy swap may work on something like Love Is Blind or The Ultimatum, many viewers believe it has no place in Married at First Sight.
- One commenter said: “I can see Michelle and Allen being a good match, at least on paper.”
- Another person said: “This show would just be like the (enjoyable) trash AU version if this happens. I already know this show is fake af but if they throw a partner swap in there they might as well throw in the towel on it being even a fake marriage show.”
