Married At First Sight Season 18’s Madison Myers Is Playing The Victim (I’m Confused By Her Post-Season Behavior)

Married At First Sight season 18’s Madison Myers has been doing everything she can to ignore the consequences of her actions, but watching her play the victim in her current situation has confused me beyond belief. Married At First Sight season 18’s Madison, who joined the series in hopes she’d find a lasting relationship, may have gotten what she wanted out of the experience, but in a deeply unconventional way. While she spent the season married to Allen Slovick, Madison wasn’t thrilled with their connection as she moved through the experiment, though she tried to act like she was happy.

Although Madison’s time as a member of the Married At First Sight season 18 cast has been difficult in moments, she’s been struggling with her own behavior rather than the actions of her MAFS husband. Allen’s one of the few participants this season who has genuinely been interested in his partner, but Madison’s interest in Allen wasn’t something that grew after their wedding ceremony. Instead, Madison and Allen struggled while she got to know David Trimble, who was matched with Michelle Tomblin. Madison and David claim their relationship stayed strictly platonic, but her behavior is confusing if that’s the truth.

Madison treating [Michelle] poorly…and acting like she hadn’t been lying to her face for months was overwhelmingly bold.

MAFS Season 18’s Madison Cheated On Her Husband Allen

Although Allen and Madison’s marriage was made to seem like it may be able to work in the long-term, the couple weren’t doing well ahead of Madison dropping a bombshell. Sharing she and David had developed a deep connection, things quickly fell into place for MAFS viewers who had long believed something was going on with the pair. Sharing that they’d started talking at the gym, the pair made it clear that they hadn’t engaged in physical intimacy, but I don’t think they were telling the truth. Even the MAFS experts took issue with their explanation, poking holes in it.

While it’s possible David and Madison kept their affair platonic throughout the season, after seeing David stumble into his and Michelle’s shared apartment in the wee hours of the morning, it doesn’t feel possible. Even so, the newly formed pair did their best to explain where they were coming from. In the process, they managed to make themselves look guiltier at every turn. Unfortunately for Madison and David, their lies had become second nature to them in a way that left everyone doubting everything they said. After so much deceit their credibility was completely shot, leaving the pair feeling defenseless.

Madison’s Justification Of Her Behavior Has Been Tough To Watch

Although Madison has been upfront about her relationship with David, she’s been doing a lot to try and defend herself in a way that doesn’t make much sense to me. Rather than accepting that she fell for someone else’s husband, whether Michelle wanted to be married to David or not, and taking accountability for her behavior, Madison has been trying to justify what she did. Instead of being clear and open, Madison has been trying to make excuses for her affair with David, stating they were just supporting each other and fell into something without realizing what they were doing.

Madison’s Playing The Victim When She Chose To Cheat

As Madison moved through the final episodes of Married At First Sight season 18, she came off like she was playing the victim in a way that genuinely irked me. While I understand that there was a lot going on with Madison’s marriage to Allen ending and her relationship with David beginning, it was clear that she chose to engage in a relationship with someone who was in a marriage of his own while she was in a marriage of her own. Even if the pair didn’t share physical intimacy in the way they claim, their emotional affair was happening.

Madison acting like Michelle had done her wrong in some way was, to be perfectly honest, baffling to me. Even if Michelle didn’t want to be with David, she committed herself to their marriage in a way that cut her off from other connections. Despite Michelle’s behavior not necessarily being the most savory throughout the season, Madison treating her poorly, talking behind her back, and acting like she hadn’t been lying to her face for months was overwhelmingly bold. Even though she didn’t like the way Michelle had treated David, Madison casting herself as a victim toward Michelle was absurd.

Madison Should Be Taking Accountability For Her Behavior

After a season of deception, MAFS’s Madison shouldn’t be playing the victim in any capacity. Instead, she should be taking accountability for her behavior and owning that she fell in love with someone who happened to be with someone else. Rather than trying to make herself out to be the victim of the situation, Madison should be clear and upfront about the fact that she did something that was, for all intents and purposes, wrong. Being apologetic and holding herself accountable makes her look far better than the behavior Madison’s been displaying on Married At First Sight.
