Although David has been masking as a nice guy throughout Married At First Sight season 18, the behavior he displayed during the most recent episode proved that he’s anything but. While he spent his time in his conversation with Allen on the defensive, it was clear that David was struggling to allow the other man to speak about anything that could possibly sound negative towards him or Madison. Allen, who’s been giving his all in his marriage with Madison, was understandably crushed and hurt by David encroaching on his marriage, and shared as much with his former friend.

While David’s nice guy attitude was around all season, it disappeared when Allen challenged him. Although Allen and Michelle have both had difficult moments throughout Married At First Sight season 18, neither of them deserved to be paired with people who felt comfortable cheating on them. Michelle, whose defenses were up throughout MAFS season 18, deserved to have her feelings about David validated rather than trashed. Both deserved better than Married At First Sight was able to give them this season, especially after this recent episode.
