Married at First Sight season 18’s Michelle Tomblin is being called a “liar” by fans for making her husband, David Trimble, look worse than he is. Michelle had a surface positive review of David when she said yes to him at the altar, but that quickly dissipated when she learned he lived in a unit in his parents’ house and smoked cigarettes. From there, Michelle found more things to have disdain towards David about, like the way he dresses, speaks, and communicates, but she is getting called out as the problematic one.

They brought up Michelle’s hostility towards David’s one-month anniversary dinner outfit and over her reaction to David mistakenly texting Michelle, “You look so good I could eat you up.” Other Married at First Sight fans jumped in the thread’s comments to underscore how Michelle’s lies about David or embellishes situations, and is trying to control their marriage narrative.

By Michelle trying so hard to make David look like the bad guy in their marriage, it is actually having the opposite effect, and MAFS fans are turning against her. The exaggerations Michelle pushes over the grievances she has with David are causing viewers to feel sorry for David and see Michelle as the villain of the season. David seems to be trying to explain himself, his background, and future prospects to Michelle, but she only wants to view his explanations as not good enough and paint him as the bad guy.
