‘MAFS’ Fans Accuse Producers Of ‘Fraud’ For Ratings
MAFS fans have been tuning in for months now watching the drama unfold on Season 18. This current season took place in Chicago and after all this time, Decision Day has finally come and gone. Fans are coming together and saying that the past few seasons have been more drama-filled than previous ones. There has been way less love and tons more scandal. Some fans are even alleging that the Married at First Sight producers are committing fraud for the sole purpose of gaining higher ratings. What are fans saying? Keep reading to find out all the details.
Are MAFS Producers Just In For Higher Ratings?
MAFS fans are disappointed in the past couple of seasons of the hit reality show. They feel that in the past the matches were a lot more successful than they have been lately. There have been many couples who choose to stay together after Decision Day but that number seems to be getting less and less.
Now, fans went to Reddit to discuss their thoughts. Many of them are accusing Married at First Sight producers of fraud just to get higher ratings. They feel that the experiment is more staged now than ever before.
This current season has proven to be filled with drama. One of the husbands has been accused of only joining the show for clout and is not looking to be married at all. This of course would be Ikechi.
He was partnered up with Emem and they could not be a worse couple. From the beginning, fans have wondered how they were matched up at all. They did not even make it to Decision Day and divorced roughly around their one-month anniversary.

Plus, the drama really heated up when they had a spouse swap. David and Madison had an affair and eventually came clean about it. They both left their spouses and decided to form a relationship with each other. They are not married but they are pursuing that relationship outside of the show.
All the drama has fans convinced producers are being fraudulent to boost ratings.
What Are Fans Saying?
Fans do not seem to be happy with Season 18 of MAFS. In fact, they think producers have committed fraud just to get higher ratings. What exactly are fans saying? Here are some of their comments:
- I mean, of course they’re f*cking with them. The “experiment” has proven to be fraudulent and isn’t even scientific in any way. Add to that that at this point many of the people are recruited and don’t necessarily wasn’t to be married more than they want to be on tv, it’s ALL for tv.
- ya they are fraudulent on the viewers for ratings.. just like 90 day fiance
- Yes, this is a ratings game before it is a show about successful marriage!
- Ding, ding, ding….of course they are!!! They are just f’ing with these people, initially as an experiment to see if opposites could maintain a relationship to now where it is a complete shit show.
Many more fans felt the exact same way. Fans agree they wish the show would get back to being the way it was in the past when there were successful couples such as Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner. Most wish the show would return to being about love instead of ratings.
