Life After Love: Katie Conrad’s Journey Post Married at First Sight Season 10
If Katie Conrad had listened to her heart the week before her Married at First Sight wedding, she might not have ended up divorced, and it’s time to talk about her life after the show. Katie and Derek Sherman were matched on MAFS season 10, and although it seemed as though they might work out, their marriage went down in flames. There were accusations of cheating and lying in the relationship, which ultimately led to the couple’s demise. They called it quits in 2020.
While Katie wasn’t as outrageous as Chris Williams from MAFS season 12, she was still a wild-card pick for the experts. She had a lot of unresolved relationship issues going into the show. Her ex told her not to go through with the wedding and to get back together with him, and she considered it. Katie should have stepped back from the process when she felt like that. However, she was tired of her failed relationships and hoped the show would work. Unfortunately, it did not, and her marriage to Derek ended rather terribly.
Katie Found A New Man
Derek accused Katie of cheating on him with her ex throughout their MAFS journey, but Katie and Derek both walked away from their marriages and started new lives. Katie found her new man on Hinge.
Brandon Eaves is in the Air Force captain, and Katie started dating him before her divorce was even final.
They fell in love, and Brandon decided to propose after a few months of dating. They got married in June 2021 in a cozy outdoor celebration. Brandon got promoted to Major in the Air Force in 2023.
In March 2022, Katie and Brandon announced that they were expecting a baby boy. Their son, John, was born in October 2022. Since then, Katie’s Instagram feed has been filled with family photos, and photos of appreciation for being a mother. Katie and Brandon also have a Golden Retriever. Katie and Brandon have not mentioned whether they plan on expanding their family. The happy family does seem to vacation a lot, and live their lives to the fullest.
What Does Katie Do For Work?
Katie went onto Married at First Sight boasting about being a Mental Health Professional. On her Instagram, Katie does not tout what she does for a living on her page. It’s unclear whether Katie still holds down a job in the mental health field or whether she’s transitioned into be a full-time mom and miliatry wife. Katie was 25 in 2019 when MAFS season 10 was filmed, so she is now a woman in her 30s.
She also doesn’t list her MAFS accolade in her Instagram bio, like many alums do. However, Katie’s Instagram bio does promote her Amazon shop, where she sells commissioned products to fans. She does not actively post Instagram Stories, and does not have any promotional shares on her page, indicating that she’s not really pursuing an influencer career. Katie is on CAMEO, where she curates videos for MAFS fans. Either way, it looks like Katie now enjoys an upper-middle-class life, and learned from her time on the show.
Katie Is Happier Without Derek
Things didn’t go as planned for Katie on MAFS, and many viewers jeered at her rather than cheered her on. That must have been difficult. In the end, she and Derek didn’t connect emotionally. Katie may not have been ready for such an experiment, as she still seemed to have feelings for her ex, whom she briefly dated while she and Derek were separated. However, she’s moved past both and has a happy family outside the reality TV world.
The MAFS star was once branded as immature, but she didn’t give up despite her failed attempt at love on the show. She picked herself up and found happiness in the arms of another man, which is heartwarming. While she didn’t find love on the show, perhaps her happy ending will be inspiring to other Married at First Sight cast members whose marriages don’t go the way they planned.
