Flau’Jae Johnson LOVES Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever FUELING FLAMES on Angel Reese DRAMA!
You’re tuning into Black and White Sports on YouTube, the No Holds Barred truth on sports. The main event starts right now.
Black and White Sports supporters, let’s talk about Flau’jae Johnson! That’s right, the LSU star. In case you haven’t noticed, through two games this season, she’s absolutely killing it.
Yeah, I understand it’s just two games, but she’s come out and made some comments that I think caught everybody—especially Indiana Fever fans—by surprise. And already, it seems the new coach is attracting potential superstars to the team.
Now, the problem is, you’d have a direct conflict at position for one Kelsey Mitchell and, at times, maybe Caitlin Clark. However, a good coach could figure out how to get three really dynamic players into the game at the same time.
I mean, honestly, how do you not figure out how to make that work? Have Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, Flau’jae Johnson, A’ja Wilson, and Lexi Hall on the court at the same time? You’ve got to figure out how to do that!
If she was to come out in the WNBA draft—or maybe she comes out not this year but the following year—she’s got the potential to be the best player in college basketball. I understand Paige is out there and JuJu and yada yada, but you get my point.
And now she’s made some comments that signal the direction of the Indiana Fever. And guys, why this is interesting is this ongoing potential feud. She’s got the parents, mother of Angel Reese, and Flau’jae Johnson have had a bit of an ongoing issue with each other. And many believe that Angel and Johnson are not getting along.
So, would it just add an extra layer to everything that’s going on involving Angel Reese, the Indiana Fever, the Chicago Sky? Oh, it would be very interesting indeed.
And this certainly signals a direction. Listen to the whole video clip. She mentions the Chicago Sky, but it’s the Indiana Fever that really got her attention because of Stephanie White and that hiring. How much she thought of Stephanie White and the idea that she might want to play there with the Indiana Fever.
Now, y’all seeing the Chicago Sky coach, T? They let her go after one season, which was crazy to me. They let the Indiana Fever head coach go, which was kind of not surprising but kind of—right? That’s very interesting. I mean, she did all she could.
She didn’t want to dog out Christy Sides, but that was kind of not surprising. Gives you an idea of exactly what other players think of Christy Sides. Seriously, Christy Sides was going to be an issue in free agency for potential players that want to come out in the draft.
Could she look? Johnson could see what we could see. Tyler Marsh, the development coach that was coach on the—since he’s not the head coach of the Chicago Sky—he’s now the head coach of the Chicago Sky.
But let me tell y’all, the Fever—Indiana Fever—having Stephanie White as a head coach, I really like that. Love that. I feel like she’s a player’s coach. I even remember when she was recruiting me at Vanderbilt. Like, I was like, I like this lady. I want to go play for her. You know what I’m saying? If she would have stayed, ended up leaving Vanderbilt, but if she would have stayed, like I probably would have had Vanderbilt like real consideration.
You see what I’m saying? ‘Cause I don’t really care to go with people you know. I was trying to go where, like, the people—and she seemed like a good coach, you know what I’m saying?
And I think like this for the Indiana Fever, so next season I’m going to be seeing. But I really think like that. I really think that is a good addition. Like, I really think that’s a good addition.
Oh, that could be interesting if somehow she found herself on the Indiana Fever. How would a coach like Stephanie White be able to make that work? I mean, can you imagine? I mean, you’ve got—what? Would have a true big four then?
I don’t know. The one thing that could possibly happen is, uh, she could play a sixth-man role for the Indiana Fever.
Alright, and the one thing that we noticed as we’re watching games last year, when Caitlin Clark came off the court or Kelsey Mitchell came off the court, scoring had a tendency to stop, come to a screeching halt at times. She would be a potential weapon that could come in off the bench. Or maybe you move Kelsey Mitchell to the sixth-man position after a couple of years down the road. I mean, just depending on who’s got the hot hand.
But the point is, the Indiana Fever’s offense had a tendency to fall off when Caitlin Clark had to get a spell, if Kelsey Mitchell had to come out, if one of the two got hurt. You would have somebody that could come in, play the position, and give you real offense.
In case you’re wondering, I mean, that is interesting. I mean, we’re talking about she averaged 15 points a game last year at LSU, but this year—I mean, it’s not even two games—she’s got 24 and a half points right now.
Alright, throw in, you know, six rebounds, a steal and a half. It’s interesting. It is an interesting player to throw into the conversation.
And look, allegedly her mother, Angel Reese, made her voting comment the other day. Somebody brought up the fact that Angel Reese only had a 1.7 GPA at LSU, and there’s a lot of people that believe that came from Johnson’s mother, who threw it out there.
There’s something very strange. I don’t know if I want to go so far as to call it a feud, but I think it’s quite the indictment that you have a potential ex-teammate of Angel Reese, they don’t seem to be getting along very well.
And I wonder why that is. Alright, I think that kind of signals trouble for the Chicago Sky eventually because no matter what you see about Angel Reese, whether it’s on social media or whatever, it’s a lot of “me, I” and—and that’s how her game was last year, as she was getting her own rebounds. We saw she had a real issue with passing the ball out to other players around, other guards around on the perimeter so they could shoot. They were just standing around because she kept trying to put up missed layups.
Well, teammates don’t like that very much. You throw in the fact that we found out that Weather Spoon was possibly sidelining Cardoso for the sake of Angel Reese’s streak. Players aren’t going to like that very well.
U, me, Marina Mabery, she didn’t, uh, she didn’t want anything to do with it. She went to the Connecticut Sun, she wanted out of town.
And this Johnson on the Indiana Fever? Can you imagine those games between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever with her own ex-teammate playing with Caitlin Clark?
Oh man, that would be really interesting. It really would. That’d be real drama on a basketball court. It really would. It would add a whole layer to, I guess, what people want to call a rivalry.
I mean, Caitlin Clark’s so far superior as a player. I’m reluctant to say that, but on the attention level, okay? I mean, during those games, when it’s between those two, yeah, a lot of people want to see Caitlin Clark scorch the out of the Chicago Sky and Angel Reese drop 30, 12, and whatever on them. You know what I’m saying? And that would be really interesting.
It would! By the way, Miss Johnson’s quite the rapper. She’s got some bars, folks. So go check out her video with Lil Wayne. It’s pretty good. I mean, she’s a flamethrower.
Tell me what you think. Peace, I’m out. Till next time. Thanks for watching the show. Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe. Be sure to tune in next time on Black and White Sports.
