90 Day Fiancé

BIG REVEAL!! Statler moved back to live with her parents after Dempsey left her with nothing

Statler Riley, known for her appearance on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days and The Other Way, has hit rock bottom after filming two seasons of the show. In a series of recent Instagram stories, Statler admitted that she is partly responsible for the challenges she has faced in recent years. She describes herself as a “walking doormat” and acknowledges her tendency to be a people-pleaser. However, she also wants TLC and her former British partner, Dempsey, to take responsibility for their roles in her downward spiral.

Statler’s life update on Instagram revealed the extent to which being on the show has impacted her life. She feels the 90 Day Fiancé franchise has completely destroyed her character by forcing her and Dempsey to film fake, scripted scenes for dramatic effect. This portrayal has deeply affected her personal and professional life. Now, approaching 35 years old, Statler is living with her parents—a stark contrast to the life she had envisioned for herself.

“A recovering people-pleaser, a recovering walking doormat… you know, this has affected my life. This isn’t just some show,” she shared. “I am now almost 35, living at my parents’ house.” She added, “While I do take responsibility for putting money into this van that was in another person’s name… you know, that’s a hard lesson to learn. Trust your intuition—I’m learning that.”

90 Day Fiancé's Statler Riley Finally Reveals Current Relationship Status After Dempsey Wilkinson Split

One of Statler’s biggest regrets was trusting Dempsey, who she claims used and abandoned her. The relationship left Statler in debt after she helped Dempsey buy a van so they could both live their “van life” and travel across Europe as a couple. Despite paying more than half of the van’s price, Statler put it in Dempsey’s name. Dempsey eventually sold the van, kept all the money, and left Statler financially devastated. Adding insult to injury, Dempsey used the proceeds to travel the world with her new American girlfriend.

Statler’s credit score took a significant hit, but she is slowly recovering financially. The emotional toll, however, has been even more challenging. What hurts Statler the most is the betrayal and the realization that trust must be earned, not given freely. She feels used and discarded, with her former partner benefiting from her generosity.
