TVSeasonSpoilers posted that Akinyi recently announced her hospitalization via her Instagram updates. Akinyi and Ben announced the arrival of their baby in February 2025. However, Akinyi shared some concerning pictures in her recent IG Stories. One of them showed Ben holding their baby next to a hospital bed, while Akinyi seemed to be covered in bloody sheets in another. “They had to perform a biopsy on my breast,” Akinyi explained. A different picture had Akinyi showing her fans her “bloody breast milk.” She wrote that she was unable to feed her baby.
What Akinyi Getting Hospitalized Means For Her Health
Akinyi has seemingly been hospitalized with mastitis. It is a breast infection that causes inflammation, swelling, redness, warmth, and pain. It can also cause fever, chills, and flu-like symptoms. Breast issue can get infected possibly due to a blocked milk duct or bacteria entering the breast. It usually occurs during the first three weeks of breastfeeding. As per ClevelandClinic, it may typically occur when one makes too much milk. It appears that the patient does not usually need medical treatment.
However, if symptoms don’t improve or return even after a course of antibiotics, a biopsy may be necessary. It is to rule out other conditions, such as cancer, if the presentation is atypical. Akinyi has posted pictures of her bleeding. She also posted a Story about her breast pumps in which the supply was red because of blood. Masitis can cause nipple discharge, sometimes with streaks of blood.
