90 Day Fiance Update: Are Alliya & Shawn Still Together?
Shawn Finch and his fiancee, Alliya de Batista, have quite a story. He met his 90 Day Fiance love before she had transitioned to a female. For Shawn, the transition was hard as he mourned the person with whom he had first fallen in love. Furthermore, he does not want to be with a woman, which makes it hard as Alliya is living her life as a full woman. She has yet to decide if she will undergo a full surgery to complete her transition, but this has led to an open relationship. Since Alliya lived in Brazil and Shawn was in California, an open relationship made sense.
Add in the transition, and it allows Shawn to still be with men. He often does not want Alliya to wear heavy makeup and has just now seemed to accept that her former self is gone. Fans do not appreciate the way that he talks to her. They find him deadnaming Alliya, and that is a struggle, plus she likes to take HIV tests often, and he does not care for this:
- Excuse me Shawn. You seriously made fun of Aliyah for wanting to be safe and healthy while your out chasing boys half your age
- see this relationship doesn’t make sense. shawn wants a man not a woman. she’s not a man
- It is so odd how Shawn treats Alliyah. She’s like his pet/child.
Many felt that they should break up and move on with their lives, but did they? It appears that they have lasted beyond the 90 Day Fiance season. Shawn Finch is still sharing photos of the two on social media, one from a few days back. They attended an Anitta concert and were singing along.
Happy Together?
One 90 Day Fiance fan noted that Alliya has not shared much of her beau, but that does not mean anything. Sometimes, cast members rarely post information to keep viewers guessing. They also cannot break NDAs, which are put in place at the beginning of the season. Another fan shared that Alliya de Batista and Shawn Finch were recently spotted shopping in Fort Lauderdale. It made viewers question the entire series:

While in Florida, Alliya spent time with fellow cast member Loren Brovarnik. They posed and smiled, genuinely happy to be together. Hopefully, Shawn has accepted Alliya for who she is, and they can spend a very happy lifetime together.
