Married At First Sight Season 18’s David & Michelle Reveal Clues Their “Stressful” Marriage Didn’t Work (SPOILERS)
Married At First Sight season 18 is underway, and one of the couples revealed some major clues as to why their “stressful” marriage may not have made it to Decision Day. Throughout Married At First Sight’s history, there have been couples who seem to be good on paper but don’t meet each other’s needs in practice. While the matchmakers have tons of information about the couples to try and figure out how to match them, some fare better than others when they’re in the real world. Married At First Sight season 18 is, again, proof purchase of a mistaken match.
It appears that the MAFS couple could’ve been dissatisfied with what the experts did for them in the experiment.
In an interview with Screen Rant, David and Michelle from Married At First Sight season 18 opened up about their experiences on the show, and their answers lent to the idea that they may be one of the season’s mismatches. According to Michelle, the MAFS experience was “[a] learning curve, stressful, and [provided] personal growth,” while David shared that his time on MAFS was “life changing, exciting, and hard/stressful.” Though David may sound a bit more positive in tone about his experience, things seem to be an even split on whether they were positive or negative between the two.
While David shared that his outlook has a “let things play out then everything will fall in place” quality to it, Michelle may not have been quite as easygoing. Michelle explained that she “would have put an emphasis on the fact that I am attracted to men who are extremely driven,” if she could change something about her MAFS experience, which doesn’t bode well for her marriage. Though it’s possible David and Michelle could be speaking from a place of tension in their marriage that has since dissipated, it seems likely that they could be a complete mismatch this season.
What David & Michelle’s Relationship Comments Mean For MAFS Season 18
Although David and Michelle’s relationship could have worked out in the long run, it appears that many of their answers come from a place of being mismatched. David, who appears more positive about his experience than Michelle, may have been happier from his side of the relationship than Michelle was, but it appears that the couple could’ve been dissatisfied with what the MAFS experts did for them in the experiment. Though Married At First Sight isn’t necessarily a guaranteed positive experience, the couple’s comments make it seem like they were expecting something they didn’t get during the season’s run.
While the expectations for Married At First Sight have been inordinately high because of the low success rate that the experts have faced in recent years, it’s possible that the season doesn’t have anything different going on when it comes to matches and the way the experts put couples together. Despite knowing that there was a lot of pressure on MAFS season 18 to create successful couples, the panel of MAFS experts may not have been able to do so. David and Michelle’s potential mismatch may be one of several this season.
Our Take On MAFS Season 18’s Potential Mismatch
While David and Michelle seemed like a great match on paper, it’s likely that, because of their commentary, they won’t wind up together at the end of the season. Despite their time during the matchmaking special being spent describing someone who appeared to be each other, David and Michelle’s discussions about their time on MAFS and the things they would change seem more negative. It feels likely that the Married At First Sight couple could be a mismatch, meaning it’s possible they don’t make it through the entirety of the experiment and split up prior to Decision Day.
