David was a 60-year-old man who had met the 27-year-old Lana through an online dating portal. David and Lana’s relationship suggested Lana was a catfish. The two had not met each other for over eight years into their long-distance romance. Lana had stood David up multiple times when he went to Ukraine. During the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 4 Tell All, David told host Shaun Robinson that he had spent around $250,000 to $300,000 on his flights and travel to Ukraine to meet the women he had chosen from a catalog and on a paid dating service over the course of about 20 years. He said he’s been to Ukraine about 20 times. As per David, Lana was still on the website. He had gifted her an iPhone for better communication in the finale, and so she could talk to him on the phone instead of on the website.
He revealed she didn’t use the phone because “it was difficult for her to manipulate the iPhone keyboard with her nails. It wasn’t comfortable for her.” David was actively defending his relationship from his co-stars, who tried to make him understand that Lana was scamming him because she only interacted with him on the paid service platform and that she wasn’t his real lover. David made a comeback to the franchise with 90 Day Fiancé‘s Diaries in April 2022. It seemingly confirmed that David and Amira were not in a relationship. David was back in the world of online dating and had met a new woman named Olga from Ukraine among several other women. He had known Olga for three or four years. He had cut things off with Olga after his relationship with Lana turned serious. David was going to head to Ukraine to meet Olga this time. However, when David attempted to call “the real deal” Olga, she didn’t pick up.
Meanwhile, David was still keen on going to Ukraine. He had applied to become a foreign fighter in their war against Russia. David claimed he had applied to the Ukraine embassy to become a foreign fighter in Ukraine. David had served in the U.S. Army and had experience with the grenade, rifle, and special weapons training. Still, David seemingly took another social media break that lasted for months this time. He didn’t let his fans know that he was missing from Instagram due to his health issues. 90 Day Fiancé blogger Nikolas Stonestreet also known as YourWetSock posted a picture with David. They were at The Cheesecake Factory. Nicolas captioned his post, “I‘m convincing David to stop dating Ukrainian Women and invest that (money bag emoji) in American women.”
David’s Family Announced He Has Dɪᴇᴅ
On December 18, 2024, a post from David’s Instagram shocked millions of 90 Day Fiancé fans around the world. It was posted, not by David but by his family to announce that David had ᴘᴀssᴇᴅ away at home on December 11, 2024, after experiencing health issues over the last several years. It revealed that David was 66 years old. The post mentioned that David was a veteran, small business owner, and software engineer. He had recently retired from the Clark County Treasurer’s office in Nevada, having also worked for H&R Block and IGT.
David is survived by his two sisters and his cat Gamera. The family asked for privacy during this difficult time. David had a fierce love for cats.
