Married At First Sight’s After Party Is Ruining Season 18 (Which Spoilers Have Appeared Online So Far?)

While Married At First Sight: After Party was meant to complement Married At First Sight, it has given some spoilers for the show over time. Since its inception in 2014, Married At First Sight has matched strangers together, hoping it would result in successful matrimony. However, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing, especially with the last couple of seasons, with MAFS season 17 hitting an all-time low in producing zero marriage success stories. Only Austin Reed and Becca Haley said yes on Decision Day but broke up the next day.

Married At First Sight: After Party debuted in 2022. Hosted by a MAFS fan, Emmy-nominated actor and host Keisha Knight Pulliam. Since then, Keisha has been hosting three MAFS participants to react to the recently released episode, dishing an inside scoop of the behind-the-scenes drama and romance. The idea seemed good initially, considering that it replaced Married At First Sight: Unfiltered, which brought new energy to the show. However, Married At First Sight: After Party is giving a little bit too much, thus ruining the viewer’s experience of MAFS.

After Party Group Interactions Have Been Telling

There have been a couple of interactions among MAFS cast, which are obvious signs of who is no longer together. Like Allen Slovick talking about wanting to see Karla J’s boobs. MAFS experts paired Allen with Madison Myers. During their wedding reception, he told one of Madison’s bridesmaids that an ex-girlfriend whom he had dated for four years struggled to trust him, and her jealousy issues left him feeling insecure and determined to never go through something similar. Meanwhile, Madison worried that Allen’s people’s pleasing attitude would one day push him to the edge.

The fact that this couple was open about their worries made it seem like they would survive the storm. However, the MAFS duo struggled to connect, ultimately showing they might be part of the couples swap. All the compelling drama from the mid-season trailer suggests that Madison would have cheated on Allen. Therefore, Allen talking about Karla’s boobs was proof enough that he is no longer with Madison. Furthermore, a Reddit thread by Choice_Basis5786 added that the only reason Camille and Thomas were with Emem Obot was third-wheeling their lunch date was that she was no longer with her partner Ikechi Ojore.

Emem and Ikechi are still together on the show, but all the After Party signs indicate they went their separate ways. Ikechi presented a couple of red flags, and it is not surprising that their union might not have worked out. At one point during dinner with the family, he kept talking about what he was looking for, and it took Emem’s reminder that they were married for the idea to sink back into his head.

Karla & Ikechi’s Attitudes Have Been Negative

Ikechi is hard to read, and his attitude throughout this stint has been interesting to watch. The MAFS star wasn’t reactive to his wife at the altar; he was also emotionless. It appears like Ikechi is on MAFS to promote his art, book, and anything else that will help with his personal development. Karla has been one of the most difficult MAFS cast members to watch. Karal said she had manifested getting Married at First Sight, literally, but her awkward wedding to Juan and her free-spirit attitude clashed with Juan’s rigidness.

Her idea of a fairytale marriage and her claims to “truly surrender to the universe” doesn’t seem realistic. Karla and Ikechi seem to have strong attitudes, and at times, their personalities have made them get out of character, especially during Married At First Sight: After Party. When Keisha acknowledged the MAFS expert’s efforts in matching everybody correctly, Karla almost broke off her character. One Redditor picked this up, noting that Karla looked like she’d been warned “to be quiet,” whereas Ikechi’s facial expressions changed. Neither looked like they wanted to be at the After Party, which would mean their marriages failed.

After Party Is Giving Cast Chance To Push Their Agendas

Ikechi seems like another individual in the long-running tradition of MAFS casting clout chasers pretending to want to get married. Hailing from Houston, Ikechi had initially applied to be a part of MAFS season 13 – the Houston edition. Although his second application should have been a dead giveaway that fame is what this MAFS star was after, well, it looks like the producers wanted to spice up the show. Not even his sweet poems would charm the MAFS viewers into believing he’s in the show for a good course.

He’s the author of “To my Future #wcw: Letters to my best Friend and Future Everything.” While appearing on Married At First Sight: After Party, viewers saw Emem read Ikechi’s poem aloud and react to it with her friends (via Montre Burton). Emem said a guy expressing himself when declaring his love even before they met was terrific. It could be that Ikechi is on the show to sell his book, and it is a little bit weird that Ikechi appears to be building his storyline on MAFS around the book.

One notable feature during Married At First Sight: After Party was when he showed up wearing a jacket with a specific clothing brand logo, which he most likely was promoting. Ikechi is on the clothing line’s official website as its face. Therefore, it’s pretty clear that this Married At First Sight star wanted fame for the series; no wonder he auditioned for a second time in a different city. Getting married and staying with his partner was never part of Ikechi’s plan.
