Unfortunately for Kobe, he broke the news to his followers that his father passed away, and he expressed both his shock and grief following this passing. Along with sharing a collage of pics of his dad, Kobe had some poignant words to share.

Sharing the update, Kobe wrote, “It’s hard to put into words the complexity of this loss,  my dad passed away three days ago, and in the silence of my grief, I’ve found myself reflecting on a lot of things.”

Kobe continued, adding, “He always said, “Never forget where you come from, you are African, and that is your strength.” Those words will echo in me for the rest of my life. I’m heartbroken, but I’m also filled with gratitude, cuz being his son is something I’ll forever be proud of, he lives on in me, in my children, in everything good I try to pass forward. Rest easy, Dad, you are loved, You are missed, You will forever be part of my existence and thank you for everything.❤️❤️❤️.”
