Married At First Sight Season 18 Couple Michelle Tomblin & David Trimble Are Doomed To Fail (They’re Completely Unbalanced)

Married At First Sight season 18’s Michelle Tomblin and David Trimble seem like the most doomed-to-fail couple of the season so far due to their extremely unbalanced personalities. Michelle and David, along with the rest of the cast of Married At First Sight season 18, have been getting to know each other in the first few episodes of the season. While the couples have been doing their best not to judge their new significant others too harshly, it’s been clear that some of the couples are going to fare better than others throughout the stressful Married At First Sight experience.

During the Married At First Sight season 18 matchmaking special, the experts were able to give viewers insight into why they matched the couples and what they were hoping for in the new relationships. The experts, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Dr. Pia Holec, and Pastor Cal Roberson, were clear that they felt Michelle and David’s relationship could be a great one if they could both let go of some preconceived notions they had about the other’s situation. Despite knowing there would be some hurdles, the experts matched David and Michelle, the other MAFS season 18 couples, and hoped for the best.

Michelle & David Shared Similarities On Paper

Although David and Michelle come from different places in life, the pair seemed like they would match up well on paper. Both David and Michelle come from a background of social work, and in the past have even held similar public sector positions. Both of them seem to have a realistic look at the world and are fiercely independent despite that looking different in their lives.

While David lives with his parents in order to save money for a home in the future, Michelle has a space of her own and values that as part of her identity. Even though there are differences in their situations, both appeared to have similar values, similar stances on children, and similar views of the world as a whole. The couple seemed like, as long as they could overcome minor hurdles, their relationship would be a great Married At First Sight match.

Michelle Seems Uninterested In David’s Lifestyle

Married At First Sight Season 18's David appears slightly surprised & Michelle is serious.

Although David and Michelle seemed like they’d be a great fit on paper, when Michelle finally met her MAFS groom, things took a turn. David shared that he still lived with his parents, and though he didn’t clarify his reasoning, Michelle began to feel intense remorse about their marriage. While David should’ve shared more about why he was choosing to live with his parents in his 30s, Michelle hasn’t been able to face the idea that it isn’t a crippling red flag. The MAFS couple has struggled to communicate in any way because of Michelle’s inability to cope.

David & Michelle Don’t Seem Like A Solid Match

Although David and Michelle’s relationship seemed like it had some serious potential before MAFS season 18 began, the fact that she’s having difficulty even hearing David out about his living situation proves she wasn’t ready for the experiment. Michelle and David could be a compatible couple, but their match doesn’t seem to have any solid foundation to build on. Though the couple appeared like they could do well on Married At First Sight, things have quickly gotten bleak. David and Michelle could be the first to break things off this season if their behavior patterns continue.
