Married At First Sight Season 18 Fans Furious Over Michelle Tomblin’s Shocking Treatment Of David Trimble Amid Producer Plant Accusations

Married At First Sight season 18 is moving into the next phase of the couples’ time together, and Michelle Tomblin’s treatment of her MAFS husband David Trimble has been called out by fans who are angry with the way she’s shut him down. Married At First Sight season 18’s Michelle and David are a pair who don’t necessarily feel like a mismatch. While their goals and interests align on paper, Michelle’s struggling with the fact that David still lives with his parents. Unable to let it go, she’s displayed some poor behavior trying to wrap her mind around his reality.

After the most recent episode of the season, MAFS viewers took to Reddit to express their annoyance at the way Michelle was treating David after finding out that he was living with his parents“Michelle and David just need to call it quits right now,” u/Kitaboo96 explained, while calling out Michelle’s poor behavior. “She seems really hung up on the idea, but w/o details, I don’t think she can really make a good judgment,” u/FlailingatLife62 shared, after suggesting that Michelle ask more questions about David’s situation before she judges him or writes him off because of it.

Married At First Sight season 18 viewers aren’t happy with the fact that Michelle can’t move past David’s living situation in order to get to know him better, especially because she seems to be continuing with the relationship. Rather than either giving David a genuine chance to explain himself or ending the relationship because she can’t handle him living with his family, Michelle harps on David non-stop and judges his situation with little to no actual understanding of it. Viewers have been struggling with her attitude, suggesting the way she speaks to her MAFS husband could eventually become emotionally problematic.

What MAFS Michelle’s Treatment Of David Means For Their Marriage
Married At First Sight Season 18's David appears slightly surprised & Michelle is serious.
Although David and Michelle’s marriage isn’t long-withstanding, they’re both meant to be trying to make their relationship work on Married At First Sight season 18. As they’ve had the chance to get to know each other better, the couple hasn’t made much progress in communicating or learning things about each other because of how stuck on David’s living situation Michelle is. Throughout the first episodes of their time on MAFS, Michelle has been consistently tearing David down about his decision, rather than questioning why he’s there or what his plans are. She’s assuming his living situation indicates he’s a deadbeat.

Though Michelle hasn’t been able to reflect on why she’s judging her new MAFS husband without context or how her belief system has allowed her to stereotype someone so quickly without information, she’s welcome to her beliefs. Unfortunately, if she continues to be harsh with David and closes off emotionally because of his living situation, she’s going to make it impossible for their relationship to continue. Though David has been relaxed and open about whatever she wants to know, he won’t be able to stay as calm as he has been if Michelle keeps criticizing him without gathering any information.

Our Take On Married At First Sight Season 18 Star Michelle’s Behavior

While David and Michelle seemed like a good match on paper, it’s clear that Michelle’s internal bias against men living with their parents, which she assumes means they’re lazy or entitled, is creating a barrier for her. David seems interested in connecting, but Michelle hasn’t gotten over the mental hurdle she’s created for herself. While it’s understandable that she’s struggling, the level to which Michelle has been rude about David’s situation is overwhelming and makes it seem like she could be a Married At First Sight producer plant for not just walking away when she knows she’s uninterested.
