Married At First Sight Season 18: Michelle Tomblin’s Contempt For David Trimble Will Only Keep Growing (Are They Part Of The Couple Swap?)
Married at First Sight season 18 cast member Michelle Tomblin has growing contempt for her husband, David Trimble, and it could lead to their involvement in the looming couples swap. Married at First Sight season 18 premiered in mid-October 2024 and currently has three episodes out. Prior to the season starting, there was a “Matchmaking Special” and a “Kick Off Special,” which gave viewers more insight into the cast members of season 18. Fans watched David and Michelle, Ikechi Okoré and Emem Obot, Karla J and Juan, Allen Slovick and Madison Myers, and Camille and Thomas get married.
Married at First Sight season 18 is taking place in Chicago, Illinois, for the second time in the show’s history. Michelle and David had an instant attraction to one another at the altar, but things quickly deteriorated in Michelle’s mind after she learned that David still lives with his parents. 35-year-old David is striving to have a long and happy marriage like his parents. David owns his own business and is staying in his parents’ house to save money for the next chapter of his life. 38-year-old Michelle had been single for six years and prides herself on being independent. David, who wanted an independent woman, also requested a blonde-haired woman, and that’s what he got with Michelle, while Michelle wanted an ethnic and edgy man as her husband. When talking with each other’s friends and family at the wedding, it was clearly stated that they are each other’s types.
Michelle Has Contempt For David’s Living Situation
After Michelle had her initial talk with David, she quickly learned about how he lived in his parents’ basement, and she was totally off put by it. She said that she was going to have an open mind, but even after talking with David’s parents about his motivations for living with them, she wasn’t satisfied. She went to the bathroom and had a meltdown (via Access Hollywood) about how she did not want a man who lived at home.
It’s clear that Michelle has disdain and contempt for David, and is overlooking all of his positive attributes.
David is not fitting Michelle’s expectations, and she will have a tough time seeing past his living situation, and further contempt will grow.
David & Michelle’s Couples Swap Involvement
Married at First Sight season 18 will have the first ever couples swap in the franchise, but it is not apparent who exactly that will be between. Since Michelle was clearly unhappy with whom the experts paired her with, the possibility for her to find a stronger connection with one of the other cast members exists. Also, Madison is David’s type, and he could jump ship from Michelle’s scrutiny to be with her. It’s too early to know which couples are involved in the swap, but being that Michelle is not feeling David, it could very well be them.
