90 Day Fiancé: I’m Convinced Jovi & Yara Shouldn’t Have A Spin-Off (They’re Too Troubled)
Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya’s recent sighting suggests they may be a part of a new 90 Day Fiancé spin-off, which I don’t think is a good idea. Jovi and Yara first appeared in 90 Day Fiancé season 8 and quickly became a popular couple in the franchise. They got married during the season and even filmed a special segment featuring the birth of their daughter, Mylah. Despite presenting themselves as a happy family on social media, I was surprised to see them in 90 Day: The Last Resort season 1.
Jovi and Yara were featured in the therapy-focused spin-off, which featured a new set of marital issues. As I watched the season, I noticed several red flags in the couple’s relationship. Jovi was still struggling with his obsession with strippers and strip clubs, and he admitted to turning down a job offer that was closer to home. Meanwhile, Yara confessed to secretly using birth control to avoid having a second baby with Jovi. I was worried that the couple wouldn’t be able to work through their issues. Fortunately, the marriage counseling helped, and they concluded the season as a happy couple.
Jovi & Yara Were Recently Spotted Filming
Jovi and Yara first appeared in the franchise in 2020, and I’m surprised that they’re still relevant in 2024. There are now rumors circulating that they are set to be a part of a new spin-off. A Reddit user, @billilovesloui, recently shared a picture of Jovi and Yara filming at the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with the caption, “Yara and Jovi filming in Fort Lauderdale today.” The Redditor mentioned that Yara looks “gorgeous” and Jovi “seems super nice to all the crew,” adding, “Jovi takes care of their daughter while Yara is getting ready to film.”
While a few Redditors seemed happy about the potential return of the popular couple, I, along with many others, am not. One Reddit user expressed their disinterest in Yara and Jovi by writing, “no more Yara and Jovi, what else could we possibly want to see from them?” Another Reddit user commented, “ughhhh go away already!!! Can’t stand them.” I saw some other fans’ comments about not wanting to watch Jovi and Yara on a new 90 Day Fiancé spin-off as they have become “uninteresting” and likely “manufacture drama” to continue getting paid.
Jovi’s Obsession With Strippers Is Unhealthy
Although Jovi and Yara are already in the process of filming, I don’t think they should return to the show because they have a problematic relationship. Beyond their lavish lifestyle and picture-perfect family image online, what stands out to me are red flags indicating trouble in their marriage. Despite professing love for his wife, Jovi’s actions speak louder than words as he continues to visit strip clubs, showing a lack of respect for Yara. I was shocked to see him visit a strip club with his 90 Day: The Last Resort co-stars while supposedly working on his marriage through counseling.
While Yara may have her own flaws, I believe Jovi is more controversial. I still remember when Yara opened up last year about her insecurities, revealing how she grew up in a tough household and was criticized for her physical appearance. Despite struggling with childhood insecurities, Yara didn’t receive enough support from her husband. In fact, she admitted that Jovi had told her that if she couldn’t maintain her slim figure, he would leave her. Though I find Yara and Jovi entertaining, their relationship is too superficial to be featured in a new spin-off.
Jovi & Yara Struggle To Find Common Ground On Having Children
I find it hypocritical that Jovi wants Yara to maintain her slim waist while also wanting to have another baby.
During the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off, the couple argued about their plans to expand their family, with Yara revealing she had been secretly using birth control to avoid another pregnancy. While I support Yara in making her own decisions, I find it alarming that she had to keep this information hidden from her husband. It’s concerning that Jovi and Yara struggle to communicate about such major decisions in their lives, which is why they don’t deserve a spin-off appearance.
Yara Is Accused Of Disrespecting Jovi’s Mother
I think Yara has a friendly relationship with her mother-in-law, Gwen, and they enjoy filming funny skits together. However, I also believe that Yara takes Gwen’s kindness for granted and unapologetically makes fun of her. Yara recently shared a skit about ignoring Gwen and pretending not to speak English.
Netizens, like me, thought Yara was being disrespectful to Gwen, with one Instagram user commenting, “I told u she’s a NARCISSIST.” Another user wrote, “Yara is so rude to her mother in law.” Considering how mean Yara can be, I don’t think she should have a platform to spread negativity.
Jovi & Yara Show A Picture-Perfect Life Online
Another reason I don’t want to watch Jovi and Yara in another spin-off is because I don’t know if anything about their story is real.
I see them posting happy couple pictures on social media and creating funny skits together. Still, at the same time, I watch them experiencing such setbacks on the show that they have considered marriage counseling. I think whatever drama Jovi and Yara portray is all manufactured, either by them or the producers. I don’t want to be tricked into watching them when they actually live perfectly happy lives.
I recently saw Yara and Jovi share a parody video imitating their co-stars, Shekinah Garner and Sarper Güven. It seems unlikely that a couple experiencing relationship problems would create a parody video, so I suspect Yara and Jovi are making up stories for the show, which is quite annoying. If a couple is willing to invent false narratives, they shouldn’t come back to the show and deceive viewers into watching them. I hope Yara and Jovi are just filming a short segment and not returning to a 90 Day Fiancé spin-off.
